Q. What happens during the first visit?

Your first session is about understanding you and your body. We’ll start by reviewing the forms you filled out ahead of time, then I’ll ask questions about your goals for massage, any conditions or injuries, and lifestyle factors that may be affecting how you’re feeling. I may perform gentle assessments to better understand your posture, range of motion, and movement patterns. After that, we move to hands-on table work. At the end, we’ll review what you experienced, discuss my findings, and I’ll provide mindful movements or exercises you can practice at home to support your progress.

Q. Do I have to get fully undressed?

Not at all. You can undress to your comfort level — from fully clothed to partially undraped. I use draping on the table so only the area being treated is exposed. You’ll receive excellent care regardless of what you choose to wear.

Q. What kind of movement work will we do?

Movement work is tailored to you and may happen both on the table and off. It could include:

  • Passive stretching on the table

  • Muscle activation exercises

  • Functional movement patterns relevant to your daily life, sport, or performance

  • At-home exercises or yoga/asana sequences

The approach always depends on your therapeutic goals and your individual lifestyle.

Q. Will I be undressed for the movement work?

On the table, only the area being treated will be exposed, using a drape. Off the table, you’ll remain fully clothed. For exercises involving more active movement or range of motion, I may suggest wearing loose, comfortable clothing, though most off-table movements are subtle enough to do in the clothes you came in with

Q. Am I allowed to speak during the session?

Absolutely! Your voice matters. Please speak up if something feels uncomfortable, if you want me to adjust pressure, change a technique, or focus on a different area. Using your voice ensures you get the most from your session.

Q. How long is a session?

Sessions are available in:

  • 60 minutes

  • 75 minutes

  • 90 minutes

Your first session will typically be 75 or 90 minutes to allow time for assessment, hands-on work, and movement guidance.

Q. What are your rates?

  • 60 min – $165

  • 75 min – $195

  • 90 min – $250

  • 120 min – $300

Q. Do you offer a sliding scale?

Yes. A limited number of sliding scale sessions are available each month for Black, Indigenous, AAPI, and Communities of Color; folks who are Trans, Non-Binary, or Queer; and those with financial issues. Please ask if you need this option — I will respond honestly about availability.
